Physicians Worry about New Heart Health Apps

Two heart health apps have received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but some physicians believe these latest innovations are a cause for concern rather than celebration.

Physicians worry that these heart health apps could lead to unnecessary anxiety and overcrowded waiting rooms. Another worry – ECGs are considered to be a very sensitive procedure and its readings can be distorted by a patient’s anxiety or nervousness leading to inaccurate results.
